THANK
YOU for purchasing RentPlus, HI-TECH’s software for self-storage.
Please read the following most important items before installing and
setting up your new RentPlus system.
Installation
-
Be
sure the system you are installing RentPlus to meets the System
Requirements defined in the RentPlus Startup Guide.

Follow
the instructions in the RentPlus Startup Guide to install the software.

After
completing the on-screen Registration Wizard, the User Registration form
will be printed. Please fax
or mail this to HI-TECH promptly.

For
last minute information about this product, please refer to the
README.TXT file on the CD-ROM disk.
Setup
-
Before
beginning your setup, activate Practice Mode (from the Windows Start
menu). Review and practice
using all aspects of the system to familiarize yourself with the system
before you enter your data. It
is important to do this because you cannot remove data from your
real information.

Before
beginning your setup, review each of the Setup steps in the RentPlus
Startup Guide and Setup Wizard.

If
you are unsure of how to setup your general ledger, use the built-in
general ledger as is. You
can rename and renumber accounts at a later date if necessary.

Carefully
review the rental plans and discount plans that you set up before
entering in the information for your existing customers.
If the rental and discount plans are not setup correctly, the
calculated amount due/prepayment amount may be inaccurate and require
manual correction.

Before
you create any units, plan how you want to track the income from
different properties, buildings, or unit types.
Each unit can be mapped to a different general ledger account
allowing you to see income for different unit groups separately.

The
RentPlus Map is setup only after all of the Setup Wizard steps are
completed. Then, from the
RentPlus Explorer, select Tools | Setup | Map to setup your unit maps.
Access
Control Security System Interface
-
Setup
the security system hardware and the software that came with it BEFORE
setting up the Access Control Security System Interface in RentPlus.

The
interface is setup only after all of the Setup Wizard steps have been
completed. Then, from the
RentPlus Explorer, select Tools | Setup | Access Control to setup your
security system.

Follow
the instructions in the Access Control Security System Interface
documentation to properly complete setup.
